In thermodynamics, an adiabatic process is one in which no heat is exchanged between the system and its surroundings.
This means the system is perfectly insulated, or the process occurs so rapidly that there is no time for heat transfer.
Other options are incorrect:
- Isobaric: constant pressure process
- Isothermal: constant temperature process (heat may be transferred)
- Isochoric: constant volume process (no work is done, but heat may still be transferred)
