Slime moulds do not belong to kingdom- Monera. These belong to kingdom-Fungi division-Myxomycota.These are distinguished from other fungi (Eumycota-true fungi) by the presence in their life cycle of vegetative phase, which devoid of cell wall and either a free living multinucleate, amoeboid mass of protoplasm (plasmodium) or an aggregation of amoebae (pseudoplasmodium). Mycoplasma are bacteria that do not form cell walls. Mycoplasma are unicellular, prokaryotic, non-motile, highly polymorphic and filterable through bacterial filters. Archaebacteria is a group of very primitive prokaryotes, also called living fossils. Eubacteria are typical bacteria. Which were first discovered by Leeuwenhoek (1675) of Holland in stored rain water.
