Latent functions refer to the unintended and unrecognized consequences of social actions or behaviors. These functions are not intentionally planned but may still contribute to society in ways that are not immediately obvious.
Manifest functions (A) are the intended and visible consequences of social actions. Social norms (C) are the accepted standards of behavior, while cultural lag (D) refers to the slow adaptation of culture to social changes. Latent functions, however, are hidden or unobserved consequences.
