Xylene cyanol is a tracking dye used in gel electrophoresis to visualize DNA or RNA migration. Unlike Alexa Fluor, GFP, and DsRed, which emit fluorescence and are widely used in imaging studies, Xylene cyanol does not have fluorescent properties.
