Comprehension

Answer the questions based on the information given below.
6 trucks (numbered 1 to 6) have to transport certain number of articles (bags + balls). If an odd numbered truck fails to transport all the articles assigned to it then it is transported by next odd numbered truck and if an even numbered truck fails to transport the required number of articles then it is transported by next even numbered truck. The given table shows the number of articles to be transported by each of the truck, percentage/actual number of articles transported out of total number of articles to be transported, percentage/actual number of articles not transported out of total number of articles to be transported, by each of the six trucks.
Note: a) Equal number of articles has to be transported by each of the trucks.
b) The number of articles which were not transported by trucks 5 and 6, together were transported by a spare truck

The Correct Option is B

Solution and Explanation

Since, 1200 articles are not transported by truck 1 therefore, they must have been transported by truck 3
Also, a fixed number of articles have to be transported always.
Total articles transported by truck 3 = (\(\frac{4500}{0.75}\)) = 6000
Therefore, fixed number of articles transported by each truck = 6000 –1200 = 4800
Therefore,
Number of articles not transported by truck 2 = 0.2 × 4800 = 960 Similarly,

44800 + 960 = 57605760 – 2880 =28802880

64800 + 2880 = 768057607680 – 5760 =1920
Now, Sum of number of articles transported by each of the given trucks =3600 + 3840 + 4500 + 2880 + 3780 + 5760 = 24360
Sum of number of balls transported by given 6 trucks = 24360 – 12360 =12000
