1. Ethane (C2H6) :
The electron-dot structure of ethane is given by:

2. Ethene (C2H4) :
The electron-dot structure of ethene is given by:
$$ \text{H} \; \text{H} \quad \text{C} = \text{C} \quad \text{H} \; \text{H} $$ Each carbon atom is joined to the other by a double covalent bond and is also bonded to two hydrogen atoms.
