Electroencephalography (EEG) is a technique used to record the electrical activity of the brain.
The normal EEG frequency range typically lies between 0.5 Hz to 50 Hz. This range includes several major frequency bands:
Delta (0.5–4 Hz), Theta (4–8 Hz), Alpha (8–13 Hz), Beta (13–30 Hz), and sometimes Gamma (30–50 Hz).
These frequencies correspond to different states of brain activity such as sleep, relaxation, and alertness.
Higher or lower frequencies outside this range are generally not used in clinical EEG recordings due to signal distortion or noise.
