Pathway of urine and reabsorption:
Pathway of urine: Urine formation begins in the kidneys. The blood is filtered in the nephrons (functional units of the kidney), forming the initial filtrate. This filtrate then passes through the renal tubules where reabsorption and secretion occur.
The final urine is collected in the renal pelvis, then flows through the ureter to the urinary bladder, where it is stored before being expelled through the urethra.
Reabsorbed substances: Glucose and amino acids are two substances that are reabsorbed from the initial filtrate in the tubular part of the nephron. They are essential nutrients and are reabsorbed back into the bloodstream to maintain the body’s metabolic functions.
