Fundamental Duties are enshrined in Article 51 A of the Indian Constitution. They were added by the 42nd Amendment in 1976, and emphasize the moral obligations of citizens to help promote a spirit of patriotism and uphold the unity of India. These duties serve as a reminder to citizens of their responsibilities towards the nation.
