The Correct Option is B

Solution and Explanation

Let's Assume the number of Rabbits = \(x\)

Let's Assume the number of Pigeons = \(y\)

So, according to the question,

\(x + y = 90\)  – (i)

\(4x + 2y = 224\) as rabbits have 4 legs and pigeons have 2 legs – (ii)

\(x = 90 - y\)

Substituting the value of \(x\) in equation (ii)

4(90 − \(y\))+ \(2y\) = 224

360 − \(4y\) + \(2y\) = 224

360 - \(2y\) = 224

\(- 2y =\) 224 - 360

\(- 2y\) = - 136

\(y = 68\)

the number of Pigeons = 68

The correct option is (B): 68
