Dr. Rajendra Prasad was the President of the Constituent Assembly of India. He presided over its sessions and played a key role in guiding the drafting of the Indian Constitution.
Later, upon India's transition to a republic on 26 January 1950, he was elected as the first President of Independent India, a position he held until 1962.
The other options refer to future Presidents of India:
- Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan became the second President.
- Zakir Hussain was the third President.
- V.V. Giri was the fourth President.
Thus, only Rajendra Prasad fits both criteria.
