Solution and Explanation
No. of gram equivalents of NaOH
= $40 \times 10^{-3} \times 0.125 = 5 \times 10^{-3}$
For neutralization,
No. of gram equivalents of NaOH should be equal to no. of gram equivalents of the acid.
Hence, $5 \times 10^{-3} = \frac{w}{E wt. of\, acid}$
$\therefore$ E wt. of acid $ = \frac{0.5 }{5 \times 10^{-3}} = 100$
= $40 \times 10^{-3} \times 0.125 = 5 \times 10^{-3}$
For neutralization,
No. of gram equivalents of NaOH should be equal to no. of gram equivalents of the acid.
Hence, $5 \times 10^{-3} = \frac{w}{E wt. of\, acid}$
$\therefore$ E wt. of acid $ = \frac{0.5 }{5 \times 10^{-3}} = 100$
