Bahar Khan, the ruler of Bihar, gave Sher Shah Suri the title "Sher Khan" for his bravery in killing a tiger single-handedly. Sher Shah later defeated Humayun and established the Sur Empire (1540-1545 CE), implementing major administrative reforms.
