• Family Labour: The work is done by the farmer and their family members.
• Low Use of Technology: There is minimal use of modern technology, fertilizers, or high-yielding variety (HYV) seeds.
• Low Surplus: There is little to no surplus produce to be sold in the market. If any surplus exists, it is usually small.
