Column A | Column B |
The ratio of rainfall between the months February and July | 2:3 |
Column A :
Rainfall in the month February = \(1.4\)
Rainfall in month July = \(2\)
Ratio = \(1.4:2\)
= \(0.7:1\)
Column B:
\(2:3 = 0.67\)
So, Quantity A > Quantity B
The correct option is (C): The quantity in column A is greater
Column A | Column B |
The average monthly rainfall recorded for the 7 months | 1.9 inches |
Column A:
The average monthly rainfall recorded for the \(7\) months is
\(\Rightarrow\;\)\(0.4+1.4+2.2+2.8+2.4+1.4+2 = 12.6\)
\(\therefore\;\)Average = \(\frac{12.6}{7} = 1.8\)
Column B:
\(1.9\)
So, Quantity B > Quantity A
The correct option is (B): The quantity in column B is greater
Column A | Column B |
\(122\frac{1}{2}\)% of all the rain that fell during the 7-month period | The amount of rainfall during Rainfall during the month of February. |
Column A:
Total rain fell in 7 months = \(126\)
\(\Rightarrow\;\)\(\frac{25}{2}\% \;of \;12.6 = 1.575\)
Column B:
Rainfall in month of Feb = \(1.4\)
So, Quantity A > Quantity B
The correct option is (C): The quantity in column A is greater
Column A | Column B |
The ratio between the average rainfall in May and January | The ratio between the average rainfall in April and February |
Column A
The ratio between average rainfall in average rainfall in May and January
\(\Rightarrow\;\)\(1.4 + \frac{2.4}{2} = 1.9\)
Column B
The ratio between the average rainfall in April and February
\(1.4+\frac{2.8}{2} = 2.1\)
So, Quantity B > Quantity A
The correct option is (B): The quantity in column B is greater

All countries that have reported more than five hundred cancers to the WHO in 2007 are listed here. The left column gives the total number of cases reported by each country for 2006, the middle column gives the 2006 rate (cancer cases per 10,000 population) and the last column shows the number of cases reported in early 2007.
Most of the 2007 reports were for only the first quarter of the year. Owing to reporting delays of six months or more, cases reported in 2007 actually were diagnosed in 2006.
