'जटायुशौर्यम्' इति पाठ्यांशाधारेण जटायुरावणयोः सङ्घर्षस्य वर्णनम् अधः दत्तम् अस्ति:
(Based on the lesson 'Jaṭāyuśauryaṁ', the description of the conflict between Jatayu and Ravana is given below:)
1. जटायोः आह्वानम्: यदा रावणः सीतां बलात् हरन् आकाशमार्गेण गच्छन् आसीत्, तदा वृक्षे स्थितः वृद्धः गृध्रराजः जटायुः तं दृष्टवान्। सः रावणं नीचकर्मात् विरन्तुम् आह्वयत्।
(Jatayu's challenge: When Ravana was forcibly abducting Sita and going through the sky, the old vulture-king Jatayu, perched on a tree, saw him. He challenged Ravana to desist from his evil deed.)
2. प्रथमाक्रमणम्: रावणस्य उपेक्षां दृष्ट्वा, जटायुः क्रुद्धः भूत्वा तस्य उपरि आक्रमणम् अकरोत्। सः स्वस्य तीक्ष्णनखैः पादाभ्यां च रावणस्य शरीरे बहून् व्रणान् अकरोत्।
(First attack: Seeing Ravana's disregard, Jatayu became angry and attacked him. With his sharp talons and feet, he inflicted many wounds on Ravana's body.)
3. रावणस्य शस्त्रनाशः: जटायुः स्वचञ्चुप्रहारेण रावणस्य सशरं चापं बभञ्ज। तेन रावणः हताश्वः, हतसारथिः, विरथश्च जातः।
(Destruction of Ravana's weapons: Jatayu, with a strike of his beak, broke Ravana's bow along with its arrows. Due to this, Ravana was left without horses, without a charioteer, and without a chariot.)
4. अन्तिमः प्रहारः: क्रुद्धः रावणः सीतां विहाय मुष्टिना, तलेन च जटायुम् अताडयत्। तथापि जटायुः न पराजितः। अन्ते, रावणः खड्गेन जटायोः पक्षौ, पादौ च अच्छिनत्।
(Final blow: The enraged Ravana, leaving Sita aside, struck Jatayu with his fist and palm. Still, Jatayu was not defeated. Finally, Ravana cut off Jatayu's wings and feet with his sword.)
5. जटायोः पतनम्: एवं प्रकारेण, वृद्धः जटायुः रावणेन पराजितः भूत्वा रक्तप्लुतः सन् भूमौ अपतत्।
(Jatayu's fall: In this way, the old Jatayu, defeated by Ravana, fell to the ground drenched in blood.)
