In Hindu culture, the society was traditionally divided into four Varnas or classes.
These are:
1. Brahmins: Priests and scholars responsible for spiritual education and rituals.
2. Kshatriyas: Warriors and rulers responsible for protection and governance.
3. Vaishyas: Merchants and agriculturists responsible for trade and economic activities.
4. Shudras: Laborers and service providers who supported the other three Varnas.
This classification is described in ancient texts such as the Manusmriti and the Bhagavad Gita.
