At constant pressure $\frac{V_1}{T_1} = \frac{V_2}{T_2} $ or $\frac{V}{300} = \frac{V_2}{500}$
$\therefore \, V_2 $ = 5/3 V
Volume of air escaped = 5/3 V - V = 2/3 V
$\therefore$ % of air escaped = $\frac{2/3V}{5/3V} \times $ 100 = 40%
