In Carnatic music, angas are the structural or decorative elements that enrich a Kriti (musical composition). Four important decorative angas are:
Swarasahitya: Combination of swaras (musical notes) with sahitya (lyrics).
Chittaswara: Sequences of swaras without lyrics, used as melodic embellishments.
Swarakshara: Technique where the swara syllable matches the first letter of the lyrical word.
Sollukattuswara: Rhythmic syllables or mnemonic patterns enhancing the rhythmic aspect.
These decorative angas add depth and beauty to a Kriti.
