Ribosomes consist of two subunits, one large and one small, each of which comprises a type of RNA (called ribosomal RNA) and protein. They are found in both eukaryotic and prokaryotic cells. In prokaryotes 70 S ribosomes and in eukaryotes 80 S ribosomes are found where 'S' denotes Svedberg Unit.
