Solution and Explanation

Let's the time traveled by the cyclists be \(x\) seconds when they meet.
So, the distance covered by (cyclist 1) \(=7x\)
the distance covered by (cyclist 2) \(=8x\)
circumference \(=300\)
From the above information we get,
\(7x+8x=300\) [As when the cyclist meet, they would have covered the whole circumference together.]

\(15x=300\)

\(x=\frac{300}{15}\)

\(x=20\) seconds.
The correct option is (B)
