Step 3: Conversion to Potassium Dichromate.
Sodium dichromate is treated with potassium chloride. Potassium dichromate, being less soluble, crystallizes out:
Na₂Cr₂O₇ + 2 KCl → K₂Cr₂O₇ + 2 NaCl
