Both assessment and evaluation are processes that help determine what has been learned and how well it has been learned. Assessment is more focused on gathering information about student learning, while evaluation uses that information to make judgments about the quality of learning. In this context, both terms are closely related and either could be considered correct. Parent-Teacher Meetings can provide feedback, but aren’t specifically designed to answer these two questions comprehensively. Feedback is more general and may or may not address the “how well” aspect.
