As a resident of Gopalpur, I have observed that the footpaths on both sides of the main roads in our locality are in a deplorable condition. Many stretches have developed cracks, uneven surfaces, and potholes, posing a serious risk to pedestrians, especially during peak traffic hours and bad weather. Moreover, there are several stretches where no footpaths exist, forcing pedestrians to walk on the roads, often in close proximity to fast-moving traffic. This not only endangers their lives but also leads to unnecessary accidents.
