The Correct Option is A

Solution and Explanation

Let the person's salary be \(x\)
He spends on education \(=0.4x\)
books \(=0.24x\)
Stationary items \(=\frac{(0.4-0.24)x}{2}\)
\(=0.08x\)
Remaining amount \(=0.4x-(0.24x-0.08x)=0.08x\)
According to question
\(\frac{1}{4}\times0.08x=160\)
\(\therefore\) \(x-\frac{160\times4}{0.08}=Rs 8000\)
The correct option is (A)
