Is aggression really all that bad?

Question: Is aggression really just about hurting others or is there a more constructive side of aggression?

Answer: There are three types of aggression:Instrumental, Hostile, and Relational. Instrumental aggression comes about as a result of a person trying to attain some goal. An example of this would be when opposing players, during football, attack the quaterback before he has time to pass the ball. Hostile aggression is what most people think about when they think of aggression. This form of aggression seeks to do harm on another. An example of this would be when a murder kills another person. Relational aggression is when an attempt is made to harm another person's relationships. This usually takes the form of rumors or gossip. All in all aggression can lead to permanent physical harm or the attainment of a goal. It isn't completely bad, bad meaning that people can die or be permanently injured psychologically or physically, but it isn't completely good, good meaning attaining a worthy goal or positive outcome.
