HHEELPP middle ages, dark ages, late middle ages CONFUSED?

Question: so there was first the dark ages and then it got better and went to the middle ages. Then ppl started doubting church. So then another Dark ages with another plague???? Confused Can someone list out the order of the AGES Pleaseee

Answer: The term middle age is commonly used to refer to the span of the time immediately following the fall of the Roman empire in about 395 CE up until the 1400s. The dark ages are approx. 400 to 1000 CE. The dark ages are also called the Early Middle Ages. The dark ages are aptly named due to the lack historical sources preventing us from getting an exact picture of the period. Thus we are 'in the dark!' ;) The middle ages are actually encompassing the dark ages...I think this may be where the confusion lies. What you are actually looking at historically is this in a nut shell: Medieval Age Time Period a) fall of rome abt. 395 b) early middle ages/dark ages 395-1000 --->when the church split and plague c) high middle ages d) late middle ages You will then move out of the middles ages entirely into the Renaissance! : )
